Bee Hive Bases and Feeders

Bee hive floors, also commonly referred to as bases, bottoms or bottom boards, serve a number of important functions. A well-constructed floor protects the hive from wasps, mice and robbing bees and prevents infestation by destructive varroa mites. It also provides essential ventilation and regulates the temperature, humidity and moisture levels in the hive, keeping the bees healthy and productive.

There are two different grades of timber to choose from, both untreated for optimal hive health. Our premium grade bee hive floors are made from the finest knot-free timber, while the commercial grade floors are made from high quality timber with some small imperfections, but no holes.

Our bee hive floors are rebated for extra strength and can be ordered pre-built or as kitsets. Pre-assembled floors come mounted on ground-treated bearers, while kitsets come with panels, packers and treated bearers for easy assembly. We can even build a custom solution to fit your individual needs.

Unlike most manufacturers, we don’t have a minimum order requirement. As well as offering discounts for bulk orders, we’ll happily fulfil single or low-volume orders. We can deliver direct to your door anywhere in New Zealand, or you can collect for free from our factory here in Bromley, Christchurch.
