Bee Hives Direct offers high quality bee hive boxes in various sizes and grades, with options for both recreational and commercial use.

We know that the health and productivity of your hive depends on expert craftsmanship and quality materials. That’s why we use a time-tested, traditional design and strong, sustainable New Zealand pine. Made with rebated corners for added durability, strength and moisture protection, our hives are built to last.

You can order your bee hives pre-assembled for your convenience, and you can choose the have the corners glued with a non-toxic adhesive for added strength at no extra charge. If you’d prefer to build the hive yourself, you can order a kitset for quick, easy assembly.

There are three different grades of timber to choose from, both untreated to maintain optimal hive health. Premium grade boxes are made with clear grade, knot-free timber of the finest quality. Commercial grade boxes are free of holes and are equally as secure as the premium option, although they usually have some small, tight knots in the timber. Budget grade boxes have all defects are included. These boxes are ideal for transportation or if you are cost conscious.

Depending on your output requirements, you can choose from a full size or three-quarter depth hive. We can also offer modifications or custom manufacturing options - simply tell us what you need and we’ll provide a custom solution.

We don’t have a minimum order requirement. As well as offering discounts for bulk orders of 100 or more hives, we’ll happily fulfil single or low-volume orders. We can deliver direct to your door anywhere in New Zealand, or you can collect for free from our factory here in Bromley, Christchurch.
